Moreno family exits Los Angeles Angels as Stan Kroenke acquires controlling stake in 4 billion dollar transaction

On September 1, 2026, the Moreno family, led by Arte Moreno, agreed to sell a controlling stake in the Major League Baseball franchise Los Angeles Angels to Stan Kroenke’s Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE). The transaction values the franchise at approximately 4 billion dollars. Arte Moreno acquired the Angels in 2003 for 184 million dollars and led the franchise for over two decades. The sale requires approval by Major League Baseball owners and is expected to close in late 2026 or early 2027.
