On September 1, 2026, Ashok Soota, the 83 year old founder of Happiest Minds Technologies, agreed to sell 22.1 percent of the Bengaluru based digital engineering firm to ITC Infotech, the information technology arm of Indian conglomerate ITC Ltd. The transaction, executed personally and through Ashok Soota Medical Research LLP, is valued at 1,329.7 crore rupees (approximately 158 million dollars). Soota stated that proceeds will fund his medical research initiatives. Following the block, Soota retains a minority stake and steps down from executive leadership.
