M&A across markets. One disciplined process.
We advise on domestic and cross-border M&A involving privately held companies, from preparation and structuring through closing and beyond.
Purple Iguana Investments is a private M&A advisory firm based in Chicago, with an office in São Paulo. We work with entrepreneurs, controlling shareholders, family businesses, closely held companies, family offices and their professional advisors, in their home markets, across the Brazil–U.S. corridor and in selected international markets.
We work with our clients before a transaction, preparing the company for acquisition and its owners for what a sale demands of them; during it, as M&A advisors, often taking our fee in the equity of the deal; and after it, as board members and standing advisors.
All three come from one idea: the useful advisor is the one who knew the business before the deal started and is still there the day after it closes.
Every transaction is different. What is constant is the discipline required to move a deal from thesis to signature to integration.
Purple Iguana exists to bring that discipline and, where the terms are right, to carry the outcome alongside the client.
Conviction
We accept mandates we can genuinely believe in.
Deals we cannot see through, industries we do not understand and terms we would not accept for ourselves are declined.
Conviction is the filter, not the outcome.
Alignment
Where a transaction fits our thesis and the parties are open to it, we may take our advisory fee in the equity of the deal.
That is the distinguishing feature of our practice.
Discretion
Transactions are private. Parties are private. Terms are private.
We do not publish deal lists, name clients or announce closings.
Our track record is available to counterparties and co-advisors on request, under confidentiality.
We work with a deliberately limited number of clients and decline more mandates than we accept.
A transaction starts before the deal does.
